The “Increase Your Trust in God” program (henceforth “the program”) is in audio-video format in the English language. It contains four components: (1) an introduction; (2) readings about trust in God, (3) four specific exercises to build trust in God, and (4) prayer. The purpose of the program is to strengthen the perspective that God is completely knowing, powerful, kind and loving, using cognitive and behavioral strategies that others have found to be spiritually and psychologically beneficial. The program is intended solely for the purposes of information and skill development. It is intended for individuals who wish to learn about spiritually-based strategies to manage low to moderate levels of stress and worry. The program is not designed to treat clinical levels of anxiety, depression or any other symptoms of a mental health disorder. The program does not provide medical, mental health or any other type of healthcare service. No diagnosis or treatment of, or advice regarding, any medical or mental health condition or illness will be provided. As such, you will not receive a clinical evaluation, diagnosis or treatment for clinical levels of symptoms. You will also not receive any form of psychotherapy as the treatment program offered on this website is self-directed (i.e., it is a “self-help” program). The program cannot and should not substitute for, or be used as an alternative to, medical or other healthcare diagnosis and treatment when a medical or mental health condition or illness is present. Program users are advised to seek diagnosis, treatment and advice regarding medical or mental health conditions or illnesses from physicians, psychologists and other licensed healthcare professionals. Furthermore, neither David H. Rosmarin, Ph.D. nor JPSYCH Inc. nor any of their affiliates provides any emergency services to users of the program. If you experience an emergency of any nature, you must call your local emergency access number (911 in the United States and Canada) and/or go directly to your local hospital immediately.
In a randomized controlled study, the program was effective in facilitating reductions in sub-clinical levels of stress and worry among Jews over a 2-week period. However, neither David H. Rosmarin, Ph.D. nor JPSYCH Inc. nor any of their affiliates makes any claims whatsoever that the program will be helpful for every individual. Furthermore, the program is only thought to be effective for individuals who wish to utilize and practice its spiritually-based strategies. The program is also not designed to solve spiritual issues or lead to absolute trust in God, rather it is a specific time-limited treatment designed to increase one’s faith. Use of the program is not thought to lead to any serious health risk. However, it is possible that during your use of the program, you may think of religious/spiritual questions and issues that you haven’t thought of before, and this may lead to spiritual struggles. This may cause some people to experience an increase in stress and/or worry, or other negative emotions.
